Circle Singing

Circle singing on the indoor stage, Roebling Wire Works building, 10:00 am - 10:45 am on Sunday June 17, 2012, as part of the 2012 Art All Night event, Trenton, New Jersey. Open to all.

Circle Singing is an improvised group sing, starting with a simple groove that everyone can join in, and gradually adding new parts. It's a performance created by the people who are present. It can be jazzy or 'world' in feel, upbeat and fun or serene and worshipful. Just bring your voice and body to the stage on Sunday morning to join in.

Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go (Wild Mountain Thyme)

Arrangement of Francis McPeake's Irish song, for SATB chorus, baritone soloist, and Irish folk band. Two performances by VOICES Chorale of New Jersey, dir. Lyn Ransom, March 10 in Princeton, NJ and March 11 in Wrightstown, PA. With Gerry Dignan (soloist).

The First Music

A piece for treble voices and percussion based on the book of the same name, by Dylan Pritchett, commissioned by the Wellington School, Columbus, Ohio. Premiere performance, dir. Lisa Springer, on Thursday March 1, 2012, at the Wellington School, with the author.

Double Centenary Doubles

A composition for the bells of Trinity Episcopal Church, Columbus, commissioned by Columbus Public Art 2012 in celebration of the bicentennial of the City of Columbus, Ohio. First performed live (with bells being struck both manually and mechanically, through a keyboard) on January 26, 2012. A mechanical version, recorded via a keyboard, is being played twice daily throughout the month of January.
